  3. The court can also change the pre-approved alimony is some compelling situations.

The factors that influences amount and duration of alimony in India are:

  1. It depends on how long the marriage existed. Those marriages that are lasted for at least 10 years are eligible to get the lifelong alimony.
  2. Age of the spouse is also considerable while awarding alimony. A spouse of young age get the alimony for the short time duration if court think that he or she will soon become financially sound to get the required career excellence.

  3. According to the earning of the spouse, the amount of alimony is decided. The spouse who earns more is eligible to pay more alimony in India.

  4. The spouse that shows better career is liable to pay high alimony amount.

  5. If one of spouse is suffering from some diseases or poor health then the other one will be liable to pay high alimony amount for their medication and other well being.
